Training for Speech and Drama
The main objective of this course is to impart to students a method for understanding the nature of communication pedagogy, through both practical and performance components. These active experiences increase student’s capability and confidence in successfully mastering the oral presentation and public speaking skills in ESL setting through speech and drama.
We believe in the importance of having a performance presentation component, as it serves two purposes:
- The performances initially provide a method for understanding the nature of communication concepts through experience.
- These performance activities can also be used later by the class to facilitate learning of the English language.
The course will be taught in highly interactive and engaging classroom setting, using visual aids, film, music and backdrops including instructional technology and traditional instructional materials.
The program facilitation includes techniques such as cooperative learning, inquiry-based learning and guided practice to assist the students with a successful language acquisition experience.
